Cynthia’s 33-year history in the technology services sector includes involvement in ABS Computers (1975 to 1995), EDS Africa (1995 to 1999), Azisa (2000 to 2002) and her own executive coaching and management consulting practice (2003 to 2008).
During her time at ABS Computers, she was a member of the executive team responsible for ABS’ successful listing in 1984 and the merger with EDS at the end of 1994. Her significant achievements included the establishment of an accounting packages division, the VeriFone product division, and the sales services group.
At EDS Cynthia was responsible for major contract business development. She also had executive oversight of the marketing function. Her last position at EDS was as Commercial Director responsible for major deal bid development, customer contracting, legal services, affirmative procurement strategies and M&A.
Under Cynthia’s leadership, Azisa was transformed from a small engineering team of some 30 people to a significant force of over 200 electronic engineers providing design and development services to North American blue chip clients such as Alcatel, Ericsson and Intel.
Cynthia’s undergraduate business management and economics qualifications have been followed by a senior executive development programme through London Business School and the achievement of an international MBA from Henley Management College in the UK, specialising in business finance and company valuation of human capital-based organisations. She counts business strategic management, leadership, sales, customer relationships, M&A, change management and strategic finance as her strengths.
Cynthia’s more recent history is as a strategic management consultant and performance coach. She has conducted strategic interventions across many industries and for companies ranging from micro enterprises to listed organisations. These interventions range in complexity from complex acquisition and customer contract negotiations, strategic review facilitation sessions, business development strategy design and training, financial management training and customer survey management to detailed operational process redesign and implementation projects.
She is an associate at Mancosa and Henley Management College in South Africa providing tutoring in personal development, marketing management, economics, quantitative methods, strategic financial management and business finance.
